Back in Cold Canada

Here is the much anticipated update you have all been waiting for! We are back in Canada, we arrived back in Ottawa at about 7:30pm on Wednesday evening. Zoe did great with the car ride to Montreal and back, she slept pretty much the entire way and there was no crying!
The first day leaving here was rough as we left at about 1:00am to drive to Montreal. Zoe's sleep got really interrupted but it didn't affect her at all for the rest of the trip. She slept great in the crib they provided for us at the resort, it was perfect. Let's just say we are really lucky that she isn't crawling yet, I can't imagine what that would have been like.
Traveling with a baby was a breeze and we got preferential treatment the entire time! Front of the line at the airports and pretty much everything we wanted at the resort. There were a lot of other families with young children at the resort, so that was good. Zoe was a perfect girl on both flights and the french passengers that ended up sitting beside us there and back kept saying "beau bebe, beau bebe!" so that made us feel pretty good. On the way there and back we sat in row 4 of the aircraft which had a lot of leg room and a spot in front for the airline to attach a baby bassinet, it was really cool. We sat Zoe in there on the way and she just played with her toys and ate cheerios. On the way there and back another couple with a daughter that was just under 2 years old sat in the same row and there child was awful, crying and throwing tantrums the whole time, so Zoe looked like an angel even if she did make a little peep.
When we got to the resort we were put in a ground floor room and the girls were put in 2 rooms on the 3rd floor at the other end of our block of buildings, we made sure they got moved rooms before the end of the trip. After some "argumentative persuasion" Eric and I got the girls in 2 ground floor rooms very close to us on the Saturday.
The day we arrived was somewhat overcast and bit rainy and that continued into the next day, so we missed out on some sun, but the rest of the trip was hot, hot, hot and sunny!
It was great being in the city of Sousa, we took Zoe out in her umbrella stroller which had a canopy and put a blankie over top of the front and she fell asleep every time we went out.
I couldn't be happier with how Zoe was on the entire trip. 2 days before we left Ottawa I decided to put Zoe to bed awake but drowsy and it lasted throughout the entire trip, for bed and naps! There were a few times when she would cry for a few minutes but then she would be sleeping soundly. She had some of her best naps while we were away, usually during the hottest part of the day - in between 12pm and 4pm. That gave Eric and I a chance to soak up the sun on the loungers outside our sliding doors. We brought the baby monitor and it worked like a charm.
The girls did excursions on Monday and Tuesday - the Puerto Plata Runners and Ocean world, to swim with dolphins. Eric, Zoe and I spent one day lounging at the resort and the second shopping at the flea market on the beach.
We will definitely be returning to that resort, it was great. We really enjoyed our time with Allie, Holly and Sabrina while we were there and hope that we can travel with them again.
As for the pictures we will be organizing them today and putting them on our flicker site tonight, I will put up a link later.
